Little white worms
Q: We have 2 cats that stay in the house. i've noticed that one has worms. i'm sure the other does too since they share a litter box. my question is, what type of worms are they? and how do we get rid of them. we're also getting lots of fleas? what flea treatment do you recommend? thank you, carol
A: The cats probably have tapeworm which can be treated using tape worm tablets for felines. you should use a product like frontline plus on your cats for flea control. you can also use a capstar tablet to kill the adult fleas. you should also treat the house for fleas as well.
Shop for: capstar, frontline plus, frontline

I can't identify them
Q: Recently my male cat has lost a lot of weight, and today i saw a short white worm hanging from his tail that was about the length of my pinky nail. i've looked all over and can't figure out what it is. what is it and what should i use to treat it?
A: You could bring a stool sample to your veterinarian for a positive id of the type of worm. you can also use a broad spectrum wormer such as panacur-c. this product is given once a day, based on the weight of the pet, for 3 consecutive days.
