Advantage vs. frontlineQ: I have a 5 yr old 15lb pomeranian who stays indoors 99% of the time. i usually give her a bath weekly and take her to the groomer once a month. (my groomer has always bragged that she never has fleas) i have kept advantage on her since she was a puppy. i have never had a problem with fleas or ticks. now this past week since we have had a few days of cool weather she has suddenly gotten eat up with fleas. i heard that frontline plus was better than advantage so i purchased some frontline plus and put on her after a good bath with flea shampoo friday. we have drenched our yards in both liquid and granual pest control (flea, ticks, ants, etc..) products two days in a row now, and this morning my pom. has more fleas than she ever has. she it totally covered as if i have not put anything on her at all. does the front line take longer to work? should i go back to the advantage? i'm running out of solutions, please help.i'm sure they (fleas) have to be in my house too. i have a 18 month old in the house with asthma and have to be careful with pestiscides that are used indoors. what should i do, will this frontline start killing these fleas soon? A: Frontline is 100% effective in killing fleas within 18 hours of application. what you may be noticing are either fleas from eggs that were laid before the application of the frontline or because of the hyperstimulation of fleas as the product kills them, there may be the appearance of more fleas.

Frontline plusQ: We have a 130 lb rottweiler, she is pregnant. we also have a 30 lb dog. i normally keep them treated with frontline plus. i had heard about advantix. i am wondering if that is the best thing? i had spoke to someone about the advantix and they said the frontline for our 130 lb would need 2 different weight ranges of product, that the largest one is only up to 100 lbs. due to cost, if this is the case, we may have to stick with the frontline plus. please advise me. thanks! A: I would check with 1800petmeds pharmacist about dosing. please dont use any of them if dog is pregnant
